Techniques

This post was made in part for the purpose of aiding us in presenting a proposal to teachers and classmates to get feedback on our work so far.

           PARTY SCENE
This is the kind of lighting and grading we would like
Soft lighting, warm but shadowy
Slightly slow motion
Lagging shots
One/few long POV shot(s)
Reference:
1.Lighting, lagging (Skins scene):

These shots are similar to the bizarre, lagging shots we want to achieve

OVERDOSE SCENE
Influential, similar grading style from Requiem for a Dream
        •High key, harsh lighting
        •Real speed
        •Fast cutting
•Variety of shots, angles and framing
        •180 degree rule for dialogue
        •Eyeline matches
        •Slightly desaturated, high contrast grading
•Reference: (Requiem for a Dream trailer)

An example of the editing style we are aiming for

            WALKING OUT SCENE
30 degree rule
Matches on action – going through the door
Shadows around her – no fill lighting
Well lit but night-time
Reference: (Donnie Darko opening)
This opening shot has similar lighting, grading and editing style to what we would like to create for the scene
